The curse idea was formed because the team have been experiencing what seemed to be bad luck for decades. People thought that what the management did in 1940 brought the curse upon the team. The management burned the mortgage for the Madison Square Garden in the Stanley Cup when they won in 1940. Others were made to believe that the curse started when the New York Americans were disbanded.
Despite the apparent losing streak of the team, the Rangers managed to have a comeback. The team was rejuvenated by the changes in the staff and players as well as by the support of their fans. Though they have not had the chance to win the Cup, they have performed well in the past seasons. The supporters are now anticipating to see the Rangers play again. The Fifth Stanley Cup is not far from reach of the Rangers now.
